VDE and non-VDE cutting tool distinction

Non-VDE cutting tools are for normal mechanical work: plasterboard, insulation, pipes, trims, cable ties, packaging, flooring, panels and general renovation materials. CEE/VDE / IEC 60900 cutters are a separate certified insulated tool class for qualified electrical cable work where insulated tools are required. They do not mean “cut live cables by default”. The professional rule remains: isolate, verify absence of voltage, then work.
